PR, 20th May 2023: Blessing Muzarabani’s all-round performance for Zimbabwe Select led to an 80-run defeat for Pakistan Shaheens in the second one-day encounter of the six-match series on Friday in Harare. According to the information made available here by the Pakistan Cricket Board, this was Pakistan Sha-heens’ second loss in as many matches.
Muzarabani hit an undefeated half-century off 24 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. This valiant hit near the conclusion of the hosts’ innings helped them reach 236 before being bowled out in 38.5 overs.
Zimbabwe Select had another dismal start to their innings, falling five down for 57 until 47 off 60 from Ryan Burl and 43 off 44 from wicketkeeper Clive Madande got them back into the game.
Aamir Jamal of the Pakistan Shaheens got five wickets for 75 runs in 10 overs, while pacer Shahnawaz Dahani took two wickets for 36 runs in eight overs.
Tendai Chatara trapped Saim Ayub in front on the opening ball as Zimbabwe Select began their defence of their total. Pakistan Sha-heens kept losing wickets at regular intervals and reached 71 for five before being bowled out in the 38th over.
Mubasir Khan scored 44 off 60 balls in the bottom order to help skipper Imran Butt score 45 off 81 balls.
Another standout effort came from one-drop Muhammad Huraira, who made 33 out of 36. Muzarabani fired him and returned Kamran Ghulam, Hussain Talat, and Shahnawaz to the pavilion.
Sean Williams and Victor Nyauchi each had two wickets.
