Syed Sohail Hasan Zaidi was born on 28th April, 1960 at Gujranwala to Syed Gulraiz Hasan Zaidi. He got his early education from Government Jinnah Memorial High School, Gujranwala from where he passed his matriculation. Later he joined Government College, Satellite Town Gujranwala and passed his Intermediate and Graduation.
He played cricket for his school and college teams but his cricket flourished when he joined Pioneer Cricket Club. He was a Left-hand batsman and Slow Left-arm Spin bowler.
In 1986-87, he made his solitary first-class appearance, when he made his debut for Gujranwala against Pakistan Railways at Municipal Stadium, Gujranwala in the inaugural BCCP President’s Cup. He scored 17 and did not require to bat after following on in the second innings besides taking 2-29 in the opponent’s only innings.

After that, he left cricket and switched towards Scoring. He did many matches as Official Scorers in domestic cricket and against the visiting International teams at Gujranwala.
He also served State Life Insurance Corporation, Gujranwala as Sales Representative. He left the job 3/4 years earlier before his death due to health complications (Eye Problem).
Finally, he died on 29th December 2019 at Nankana, District Sheikhupura and later he was buried at Wadi-e- Hussain Graveyard, Gujranwala.
