The tournament was held in Johns Creek, Georgia, and saw fierce competition, but Khan’s prowess on the court ultimately led him to secure the all-important title.
The final was a thrilling encounter between the two Pakistani athletes, with Khan taking the lead early. Despite a strong challenge from Irfan, who managed to claim one game, Khan maintained his composure and showcased his superior technique in the final.
His victory in the Johns Creek Open is a significant achievement, adding to his growing list of international accolades and enhancing his reputation in the global squash community.
As a leading squash player, Asim Khan has represented Pakistan with pride and has brought laurels to the country through his exceptional talent and hard work. He is Pakistan’s top-rated squash player, however, the lack of proper payment and recognition from the relevant authorities has left him disheartened recently.
Asim is currently ranked 66th in the world, while the next Pakistani on the list is Noor Zaman, who is at the 94th spot.
The 27-year-old has three medals for Pakistan as a squash player but in return, the country has not given him any kind of facilities.
