LAHORE, 28 Jan 2023: Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim shined for their franchise Sylhet Strikers against Chattogram Challengers in their match in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Saturday.
Amir bagged a wicket for 17 runs in his four overs to help his team dominate with the ball. Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Imad took two wickets for 23 runs in his four-over quota. The two Pakistani bowlers helped their team restrict opponents to 174-6 in 20 overs.
After taking a wicket on Saturday, Amir became third joint-highest wicket-taker in this year’s BPL with 11 wickets. Imad has bagged nine wickets in nine matches so far.
Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz is currently the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 13 wickets. The pacer, who is representing Khulna Tigers in the event, was named caretaker sports minister of Punjab.
PCB calls back players
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called back its players from BPL. The management committee has asked players to come back by early February.
Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB management committee, also wants Pakistan players, who are named in the squad, to participate in an exhibition match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
The much-awaited contest will be played in Quetta on February 5. Wahab, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Haris, and Saim Ayub, who are named in the squads for the exhibition match, are currently playing in BPL.
